Putting Tips and Drills

Putting Drills

Putting between 2 clubs:
This drill can be done at home on carpet, or on a practice green. The purpose of this exercise is to get a feel for a pendulum motion and to learn to take the putter straight back and through without deviating from the target line.

Lay 2 clubs on the green (or carpet) with just enough room for the putter to fit between them. Line them up so they point at the hole (or at a target at home). Practice stroking the ball toward your intended target by taking the putter straight back and then straight through without hitting either of the 2 clubs. The back swing and follow through should be an equal distance. Make sure to keep your legs still, and do not rotate your body on the follow through.
